How long have you been in the beauty industry?
I have been in the beauty industry for twenty years. I started working at a salon while I was in beauty school at Dutchess BOCES my junior year of high school.

What’s your favorite thing about the industry?
The creativity it allows me. Also, making people feel confident. I love teaching my clients how to create the looks they’re after. It’s rewarding when a client leaves my chair with a smile on their face. Also, the amazing people I get to meet along the way; coworkers, artists, other beauty professionals and clients. Everyone gets their hair done so you get to meet all sorts of people.

What’s your specialty?
People are my specialty. I like to think that I am an intuitive person, and I have an ability to interpret what people want and deliver each and every time.

What’s your best beauty advice?
You can wear anything if you wear it with confidence. You don’t need to wash your hair everyday, and can just re-wet your hair with product to restyle.

What are your favorite products?
Arrojo’s Wave Mist and Glint, Bodyography’s Moisture Tint coverage and red Lip Stain, and Dermologica’s Daily Microfoliant for polished skin.

What inspires you?
Education classes, co-workers, nature, and art.

What are some of your favorite classes that you’ve taken to advance your craft?
I fully believe that in order to keep your skills sharp and know the latest and greatest in the industry it is crucial to continue your education. During my career I have attended many advanced academies such as The Arrojo Academy, Sassoon Academy and Bumble and Bumble University. I’ve also attended hands on color classes with some of the top colorists in the industry. My favorite class was a five week course in a fashion hair styling school in Milan, Italy where I was able to help style the hair for one of the runway shows. Within the last year I’ve also finished a teacher-training program with Sally Rogerson and joined the Arrojo artistic team.

How long have you been in the beauty industry?
I’ve been in the beauty industry for about 3 years now, but I’ve been an artist all my life.

What’s your favorite thing about the industry?
Being an artist, I really enjoy getting to use my technical skills and creativity to help everyone feel and look amazing.

What’s your specialty?
I like doing everything. But, If I really love transformations. It is amazing how a different cut and color can totally transform someone!

What’s your best beauty advice?
I think we are in a time where trying new things with style really helps people become better versions of themselves. So, my advice to everyone would be to go and do something a little different than last time. Put in a slice of purple, go a little shorter, try some layers, or wear a new color lipstick. The world is your oyster.

What are your favorite products?
Curl definer is one of the best products I’ve ever used. Whether it’s applied on wet wavy/curly hair and air dried or used for a frizz-free blowout, it is definitely one of my most used products on clients.

What inspires you?
Everything inspires me because all knowledge is intertwined. You can take something you’ve learned from one place and apply it to something totally different.

What are some of your favorite classes that you’ve taken to advance your craft?
As an artist, I believe it’s important for you to constantly practice your craft. I love to practice by learning and expanding my knowledge base! I’ve been fortunate enough to take several classes throughout my years as a stylist. My favorites include Arrojo’s fundamentals of razor cutting, Sally Rogerson cutting, Steve Ferreira barbering, editorial styling with Spring Atelier, Arrojo Expo, and Goldwell & Pulp Riot color classes.

How long have you been in the beauty industry?
I have been in the beauty industry for 11 years.

What’s your favorite thing about the industry?
I love that the industry is ever changing. There is always something new to learn.

What’s your specialty?
I have to say I am good at relaxing people and relieving them of any negative energy throughout their appointments. I love all things hair, however styling has to be my favorite.

What’s your best beauty advice?
My best advice is to bring a wide tooth comb and hair clip into the shower with you. Comb conditioner through the hair, clip up,and let sit for a few minutes. Only let hair down when you are done using your body wash. You don’t want to buy professional hair products and ruin your beautiful hair with ingredients in your body wash that may be harmful to your hair texture/color.

What are your favorite products?
I love the Arrojo Hair Fiber for blow dries. It gives the hair awesome texture that still has natural movement. Right now, I favor the Arrojo American Wave Structure for styling curly hair. It is very creamy, hydrating, and defining without being crunchy.

What inspires you?
I am lucky enough to find inspiration through my coworkers, but also out in the real world. I am very artistic and creative so it is easy to find inspiration.

What are some of your favorite classes that you’ve taken to advance your craft?
I love learning and take every opportunity to advance my knowledge! Some of my favorite classes include Moroccan oil bridal styling, Amika finish styling, L’Oreal and Aveda color classes, Jon Reyman cutting, and most recently the Arrojo razor cutting class. Education is an important part of our craft and I wholeheartedly believe staying up-to-date with current trends is what makes someone a great stylist!

How long have you been in the beauty industry?
I have been in the beauty industry since 2013. My dedication and passion for hair is wonderfully evident and expressed through my creativity and attention to detail.

What’s your favorite thing about the industry?
My favorite thing about the industry is that it is diverse. It allows all people of gender, age, and race to be unique and express themselves through their appearance.

What’s your specialty?
My specialty is blowouts & styling. I love transforming hair texture with a blow dryer, the right products, and a brush!

What’s your best beauty advice?
My best beauty advice is to not be scared of change. Don’t be scared to change hairstyles or try new looks. Change is so positive & change promotes growth!

What are your favorite Arrojo products?
My favorite Arrojo product is Set & Style spray. It’s a versatile blow dry spray with Vitamin E to set any blow dry into place while giving beautiful shine.

What inspires you?
The most inspiring thing to me is education. We should never stop learning. Education opens the mind to new things.

What are some of your favorite classes that you’ve taken to advance your craft?
Since I’ve been in the industry, I’ve had the opportunity to attend several advanced education courses. Some of my favorite classes have been the Goldwell color courses, R+Co styling and creative cutting, Greg Zorian barbering, Brazilian Blowout certification, up-do classes here at The L Salon, and several Arrojo Happy Monday & Expo events. Continuing my education is important to me, and I’ve been lucky enough to grow alongside my fellow stylists here at the salon!

How long have you been in the beauty industry?
I’ve been into makeup and skincare my whole life, but I have been licensed for three years now.

What’s your favorite thing about the industry?
I love subtle things like having the ability to put a smile on someone’s face with good brows. It’s amazing how much that can boost someone’s confidence.

What’s your specialty?
Brows, brows, brows! I’m the self-proclaimed “Brow Whisperer.” I work my magic on those brows, whether it’s waxing, tinting, or microblading.

What’s your best beauty advice?
My best beauty advice is that less is more. But also, wear SPF! It makes a world of a difference for your skin later in life.

What are your favorite products?
I love Dermalogica’s Multi-Vitamin Rescue Masque, it’s great for repairing signs of anti-aging and adding moisture into the skin. When my skin is really stressed I’ll put this stuff on and it helps me recover. I also love the Bodyography glitter pigments. I’m a makeup artist, so of course glitter adds that perfect pop!

What inspires you?
Art inspires me. I love to draw and paint, hence my detailed attention to your brows! I’m also inspired by the awesome team we have at The L Salon.

What are some of your favorite classes that you’ve taken to advance your craft?
My craft is always changing, so it’s important that I’m always up to date with whatever the latest thing is. One of my favorite classes that I’ve taken was my microblading certification. Microblading is like a semi-permanent tattoo on your eyebrows, and hair placement is my THING! I also really liked the Pro-Power Peel class I took at the Dermalogica Institute. I’ve also taken some cool classes to learn eyelash extensions, MUD makeup, and editorial makeup design.

Since I was a kid! My aunt owns a hair salon, so I grew up in that atmosphere.

What’s your favorite thing about the industry?
I love that the industry is built on being able to express yourself, and to enhance the beauty you already have.

What’s your specialty?
I run our social media. I love being able to get creative with the hair videos and photos I gather together to post on our account.

What’s your best beauty advice?
Don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone. If you want to change up your hair color or everyday makeup, just do it! Life is too short not to.

What are your favorite products?
I love Arrojo’s Moisturizing Conditioner and Wave Mist. They keep my hair looking and feeling fresh!

What inspires you?
I’m inspired by the artists I’m surrounded with on a daily basis. Working at The L Salon is such an amazing and supportive atmosphere! I’m lucky to be able to work with such incredible people.

How long have you been in the beauty industry?
I’ve been in the beauty industry since 2015. I started with salon reception before moving to more marketing and business management.

What’s your favorite thing about the industry?
I love how the industry is constantly changing. There’s no time to be bored when there’s so many cool things you can do with your hair!

What’s your specialty?
Organization and humor. I like things to be in working order so salon operations can run smoothly, but I like to laugh along the way. Don’t be too serious, we all look prettier with a smile!

What’s your best beauty advice?
Invest in dry shampoo! We don’t need to wash our hair everyday, so when you have a good dry shampoo you can get more life out of your style. Arrojo’s ReFINISH is awesome because it doubles as a texture spray.

What are your favorite products?
In addition to the dry shampoo, I’m obsessed with Arrojo’s Wave Mist. It takes my sleek, straight hair and gives it the perfect beach wave. Then I’ll use Arrojo’s Glint Texture & Shine spray and I’m good to go!

What inspires you?
I know it sounds cliche, but our clients. We meet so many different people here at the salon that I’m constantly inspired by them. I love talking to and getting to know everyone!
